Sensitization of local populations along the Bamenda-Batibo-Numba and Bachuo Akagbe-Mamfe-Ekokroad sections

Launching of the public awareness project on the transport facilitation and transit on the Bamenda-Mamfe-Abakaliki-Enugu-Ekokprogram, component of Cameroon (development of Bamenda-Batibo-Numba and Bachuo-Akagbe-Mamfe-Ekokroad sections), on the fight against HIV/AIDS, malaria, early marriages and pregnancies, environmental protection, respect of the highway code, and the training of women’s groups on the management of processing equipment for agricultural products.

This project is implemented by CARFAD with the financial support of the Cameroonian Government through the Ministry of Public Works (MINTP).

The project began in April 2015 and consists of making a preliminary study to identify the main health problems (STIs / HIV – AIDS, Malaria), protection of the environment and respect for the highway code, weddings and early pregnancy as part of the Bamenda-Mamfe, the Abakaliki-Enugu-Ekokroad axis works, then recruit and train community facilitators to ensure proper awareness of the local population on issues raised and also train leaders of women’s associations on the management of agricultural processing equipment. The activities of these facilitators will be monitored and evaluated.
